One negative: not a good experience at the spa- the steam room didn’t work properly, which is the whole point of hammam- you need to spend time in the hot steam room before the scrub for the best results. "You get a pleasant surprise when you first enter the riad from the narrow street and corridor. It opens up into a beautiful foyer area. Our room was also a lovely historic room with an impressive painted ceiling. The room had everything we needed and we slept very well. Breakfast was good and served on the rooftop in a nice room with large windows. The service was generally very good although they did appear to be short staffed. "This is a beautiful riad that was renovated to maintain the feel of a traditional Moroccan home. The owners and staff made us feel welcomed and comfortable from the start. The rooms have windows that look into the central courtyard which is also the dining room. There is a skylight overhead which gives natural light. "Very much enjoyed our short stay - very nice hotel near the entrance to the Medina, so access from our car was easy. Note that if you want to have dinner there, one needs to give them notice early in the day or they may not be able to accommodate you with a full meal. Good to know because dining options in the Medina itself seem limited."

"We had a lovely stay in House Andalous! Very good service and hospitality from Mehdi, the host. Breakfast was great and he even proposed to prepare for us a home-cooked dinner on our last night on the rooftop terrace, with accompanied music. The place is also very well located, in the middle of the medina near to Bab R'cif. Would definitely recommend!"

"Great place and of great value. A place to stay in the heart of Medina-Fez. It is about 7min walk to The University of al-Qarawiyyin (Arabic: جامعة القرويين). Included breakfast is very good and my personal favourite and preference is that the toilet has Bidet (portable shower). Omar Fez, the manager, is very receptive, hospitable and available as needed. "
