The 3 bedroom oceanfront Captain's House, offers unparalleled views across the bay of UNESCO World Heritage Site Lunenburg from most windows.
Meticulously restored with nautical accents, it's perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers seeking tranquility.
The house is cozy in the cooler months with a wood burning fireplace, or outside firepit, and for good measure, a heated mattress pad on the king bed in the main bedroom. With responsive forced air heating, the house takes a way the chill in a matter of minutes.
Upstairs the main, king bedroom, has a reading nook in the bump out, which is a feature of this type of house in the area, and it also provides some of the best views across to Lunenburg Harbour. At the top of the stairs to the right is a queen bed, where you can relax under the skylight and gaze at the myriad of stars on a clear night, and hear the waves lapping against the shore. Across the landing, the third bedroom has a twin bed with plenty of storage available for clothes.
There is a full bathroom upstairs with both tub and separate shower to ensure you can remove all of the sand, and a half bath downstairs for convenient use.
The den downstairs is a great spot to cozy in for a movie night, or for the children to watch TV. Off the den is the half bath, with toilet and sink, and washer and dryer for any laundry that might need a freshen up.
A fully equipped kitchen is complete with stove, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, air fryer, convection oven, slow cooker, and bakeware, rolling pin and blender if you fancy baking up a storm during your stay. With plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils, you shouldn't be short of anything.
Once you have cooked or baked up your delights, sit around the dining table which offers stunning views across the bay to Garden Lots and Blue Rocks.
Just a short drive to Lunenburg's vibrant culture, restaurants and many events, it's also a short drive to experience Mahone Bay and see the three churches. If you just need to pop out for provisions, Rose Bay about 5kms away is stocked with essentials, including beer and wine, and also has a bistro offering meals during the day. Whilst you're out that way, you might want to visit Sand Dollar and/or Hirtles Beaches.
If you would rather stay home, you are steps away from the beach, a sea glass collectors paradise, and a great spot to watch the lobster boats coming and going during the season (November - May). Catch up with them at the wharf across the road to buy some fresh off the boat! The house is a sunshine haven in the Summer with front deck patio furniture, and plenty of comfortable seating inside from which to take in the views, whatever the weather!
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay, you won't want to leave!
