"We arrived late at night to the hotel, reception was closed but the owner had left an envelope with everything we needed for our stay with a warm handwritten note (including instructions to get a beer from the fridge!) The room was clean and spacious, the property well maintained, and breakfast next morning delicious. Would definitely stay here again!"

"We were looking for a place to stay between Vienna and Pisa and we found Strandhotel Faak along the way at a reasonable price. The staff was attentive and very pleasant (they spoke English in addition to several other languages). The breakfast was included and was very good (e.g. eggs made to order). "This review is split into 2 parts.. we shall start with the positives. Food here was lovely and the waiting staff were helpful and responsive even with our very limited German. The lake was beautiful although often overcrowded in the afternoon with inflatables near the jetty. If you go earlier in the day it’s beautiful and tranquil. The view across the lake is lovely. "The customer service at this hotel was terrible! To simplify to a couple words "They didn't give a s***". 1. There is a boat that goes from mainland to the island where the hotel is. The boat does not run if there are thunderstorms. No one from the hotel notified us about this and told us that the boat is NOT running now and we can not get to the hotel tonight. We were lucky enough to walk down to the dock and the boat was thankfully still running. BUT if the boat had not been we would've had...

"Few things not to like, but all minor. Parking price is on the expensive side for sure, we stayed during low season so breakfast, spa and few other services were limited, but it suited us as we had peace. Location is amazing, 10min walk to Bled Castle (it's a must!), few min walk to any place along the shore of the lake, nice park in front... "

Staff were welcoming and location great

"We had come to Klagenfurt for a parkrun and had no idea what to expect. The hotel was currently changing brands so we dropped bags off as one chain but checked in as a different hotel chain. Although there was some teething issues with the brand change, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Plus kept it personalised but professional. Hotel was perfect location and value for money this was a great option. Totally recommend to anyone visiting klagenfurt. The roof top bar was also worth popping up to watch sunset. Thank you to all the staff"
