"Lovely guesthouse with beautiful views and friendly staff. We had a great stay in a very comfortable, modernly decorated room. The house was old and traditional with lots of original character but updated to give a cosy, warm homely feel. We will definitely be back!!! "

"So thrilled to have found this little gem. Needed an overnight stay near Monmouth, we stayed on Boxing Day evening, with our dog. Beautiful room , We ate in the bar, food first class. I imagine we will pay another visit if in the area. "

"Our room at the Deri-Down was lovely and comfortable with a large walk-in wardrobe and a modern well equipped en-suite shower room. There was a multi-channel TV, a small fridge with milk, tea/cofffee provided. The landlady was very helpful and allowed my son and his wife to change in our room for the wedding we were all going to. Our continental breakfast was well stocked with plenty choice of cereals, yoghourt, fruit etc. We passed on the full Welsh cooked breakfast that looked amazing. The off...

"We had an amazing place, everything was just perfect. The room was huge, bed very comfortable, hot shower, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, all you need to be happy. The breakfast was delicious. Close distance to the town, Raglan Castle, Puzzlewood, Tintern Abbey and other local attractions. Highly recommended place to stay either for short or longer break. "We enjoyed the comfy bed and a soak in the bath. The Tv and other electrical appliances appeared brand new and everything we could want was there. The location is right on the main street so there was some traffic noise and we didnt find the heating or wifi controls - maybe some info in the room would help? This did not trouble us enough to seek help though, so overall a positive experience 🙂"

It was only an hour and twenty away from our base in weston super mare .The surrounding area is lovely we ate at the old court hotel and the next day went to ross on wye .we would defiantly stay again . "Lovely food on site. Amazing views ,ideally.place for river walk or shops. Feels like a lovely step back in time - Still have keys for the doors. Quaint but with all the facilities needed for a very relaxing break."

"The room I stayed in in this beautiful building was possibly one of the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. However when it came to the service of the staff there was a lot left to be desired... and this was in no means the fault of the staff of which there were only two... to run the bar and service the needs of the guests. I did feel that it was odd that every time I called the hotel before arriving that there was never anyone manning the phone, but regardless we were not put off. If I was to visit again, I would want to know that I wouldn't have to wait at an empty bar for 12 minutes before being served (I know the 2 staff, one of which was a trainee) were busy with the dining but at £270 a night, that isn't good enough and not my problem... I don't wish to seem petty but lots of other short comings occurred like being first into the dining hall and one of last to have our order taken, waiting until the end of our starter before our drinks arrived and taking far too long to reseat us when my wife couldn't read the menu because of the dim light. I get that there was only two staff and there were 10 couples in the dining room but this is a failing from a managerial point of view which I definitely didn't expect from such a seemingly highbrow establishment. "
