"Great location, big room, handy luggage check. The bathroom had a couple of minor issues (toilet seat wrong size, shower door got stuck as you closed it) but we didn’t raise these as they didn’t impact our stay. Bed was big and comfy, house keeping were great. Surprisingly quiet for the city centre. Couldn’t ask for more. "

"This hotel is 1 minute walking distance to the Nazare beach. The location cannot be better. The narrow street made loading/unloading luggage a bit challenging, but it is Nazare in general."

"The property is in the first and second floors of a prince's palace from the 1800's. The ceilings are beautiful with original chandeliers. There is a lift. Staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help us. The room was creatively adapted to allow a bathroom. Breakfast pastries changed every day allowing us to try new tastes.."

"Had an absolutely amazing stay at Casa Balthazar! I stayed at Jacuzzi III room and it was stunning! Staff were so kind and helpful, Diogo provided me a tour of the place when I first arrived. I had breakfast delivered to my room and enjoyed dining on the balcony with great views of the city and castle. The spa and amenities were great and very relaxing. "This place was awful. NO AIR CONDITIONING which is not mentioned anywhere on Expedia. Apparently, Expedia has that info but not listed anywhere. Would not have booked this place if I had known there was no air conditioning. No fans either and on top of that window was broken and couldn't be opened. Temp was close to 80 when I got there. Expedia was of no help finding me another room. Left within an hour of arriving. Temp next day was 102 degrees. Unacceptable at any price."

"Best boutique hotel we ever stayed at! Israel and all the staff could not do enough for us! Place was so clean and the breakfast was huge! So many offerings! The tea and coffee and cake and cookies at 2:00pm was a nice add on! Breakfast should be earlier than 8:00am!"

"This was a great spot to stay in Sintra! It was a quick walk from the crazy bustle of the tourist area and had a wonderful shared space to relax. The property is well stocked and extremely homey. I would definitely stay there again!"

"Fantastic property walking distance from historic center of Sintra. One of the three properties to have a free parking lot. Additionally, service of Paul and others during my stay makes it highly recommended. Again this is an old manor, so expect few glitches with doors etc. But very comfortable bed and cozy atmosphere. "

"The staff especially Rueben were all very wonderful! I loved my stay there. Just be aware the road outside is closed to traffic but they will give you a code so a driver can access. I was there during the terrible Martinho storm and the road was closed so the owner actually carried my luggage up the hill for me! I will definitely come back! "

"My disappointment is not for the hostel itself. The Bridge is a very neat hostel, with a good bedroom, good breakfast, and good location. My disappointment is for those 4 women who stayed this hostel on March 31. This hostel is no smoking, not they just smoked, drank, and talked loudly at the 1F balcony until 2 am. Shame on these 4 women!"

"Stayed here for 2 weeks. Charming place with friendly staff. Lovely buffet style breakfast every day, including food they’ve grown themselves. Local area is quite hilly. Also, a private area so regular cars and some taxis can’t take you right to the hotel. Lots or nice restaurants and bars in the local area, just be prepared for the walk back at night. Would definitely stay here again."
