"Great hotel in centre of Porto "

"The Hilton Porto Gaia is an excellent hotel located in an area within easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The area is beautiful and located across the Douro from the Ribeira District of Porto. Walking over the bridge to Porto only takes a few minutes from the hotel. There are a myriad of local activities surrounding the hotel especially if you like wine as there are many Port wine houses that have tours and tastings. The cable cars take you to the top a park high above with great vistas and where you can walk the upper level of the bridge. As to the Hilton Porto Gaia it is a modern hotel that is private and quiet and has nice sized rooms with modern decor. The bathrooms are impressive especially the shower. The hotel also has dining and a bar on top floor Cusco with a great view of Porto across the river and excellent coctails with lots of choices. The staff are wondeful and speak perfect English for anyone that doesn’t speak Portuguese. Overall this is one of if not the best hotel I’ve stayed in during all my travels and we will be staying here again in the future when we come back. "

"this hotel has a hidden gem. if you want good service, a smile and extra effort to make your stay very pleasant you must see Jasmine at the front desk. Her recommendations were on point. She went out of her way to contact us acting as a concierge for the hotel, although probably not paid as a concierge. whatever we needed she was there to help it. She took a day off and it was not a good experience, but she was back the next day to make it all better. As far as the hotel, it was pretty nice. the food was OK and the place was clean and spacious easy walk to all the bridges and tourist things. Port tasting and great food I must say watch out for the cobblestone streets. They have a lot of potholes as I hit one and fell on my knee and face."
