The space
Welcome to Honeybee Haven, our fully renovated Anglican Church hall nestled on a 1/4 acre lot beside our home, a renovated Anglican Church originally built in 1881.
The church hall started out as a forgotten and neglected previous community gathering space. We have spent hundreds of hours over the last three years updating everything from the electrical, plumbing, septic, insulation and roof to create a unique and welcoming space.
From the hall’s feature wall in the living room, repurposing the 140 year old planed and refinished floor from the church, to the meticulously detailed ceilings in each room, we hope you will be delighted with the small details and thought we have lovingly incorporated into each aspect of the space.
Keeping the integrity of the original boy’s and girl’s bathrooms, the indoor shower and bathroom are separate spaces. The kitchen features a 100 year old stove and antique sink, yet still provides all the modern amenities necessary to prepare delicious meals.
Comfortable queen size beds with a variety of pillows and blankets for your comfort will guarantee a restful and refreshing sleep.
Curl up with a movie or book, view the stars on the deck, gather to play some board games, BBQ on the gas grill, experience an outdoor shower (there really is nothing like it!) or enjoy everything the area has to offer such as endless places to kayak, hundreds of kms of ATV and snowmobile trails, hiking, nearby Thousand Islands National Park, fishing, swimming, cross-border shopping, or plan to head north for a day trip to the capital! The possibilities are endless!

Other things to note
Why is it called Honeybee Haven?
When we first purchased the property in 2020, we discovered that the north wall of the church had a massive honeybee hive in it - containing 50,000+ bees - that had been living there for more than 70 years!
Given the importance of honeybees to the environment, we had the bees humanely removed and relocated to a local farm.
Our discovery attracted CTV News Ottawa, who did a story on us, the church property, and the hive!
Additional rules
No parties.
Dogs must be housetrained and kept on leash at all times when outside.
Dog waste must be cleaned up and disposed of in the provided container.
