"Our first room was ideal for me and my mum , but the tv didn’t work , so there was no hesitation from the staff and they moved us straight away and wow we got upgraded to a suite which was amazing , my 85 year old was crying when she saw it and the view was overlooking the sea .. plus we had 2 tvs:) Thanks to the staff for making our stay extra special "

"Lovely lovely staff who are doing a great job of working effectively during ongoing renovations. Dining room is beautiful since refurbishment and the food is reasonably priced and excellent quality. My room was pristine with a sea view. "

"After reading mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. The room was very spacious and the view was breathtaking. The private car park was easy to access. The area was on the very far end road and felt very safe. Plenty of walks nearby. Shorter and longer. We did Raven Hall to Robin Hoods Bay and back in 3hrs. The staff was incredble. In restaurants, reception, even ladies who cleaned the rooms. Very pleasant, helpful, friendly. Check in tooks seconds, and so did check out. The breakfast was good, continental and a la carte (enough choice for everyone). We had a dinner in restaurant and also was very tasty (a lot better that I'd expected) . The hotel is being renovated therefore it needs refreshing with colours, fixing in bathroom. But overall the standard was very good. Bed was very comfy and the hotel was super quiet. We stayed in room 201 with sea view and would definitely recommend it. The hotel has it's charm being kept back in time. It will be interesting to see it post refurbishment. Undoubtedly for anyone who likes walks and reading a book, being sat in the chair with the sea view and cup of coffee Id highly recommend. "

"Nice Hotel in a good location. Tidy and nice double room with a great view. Quiet location but close to town centre. Staff in reception and restaurant very friendly and helpful. Enjoyable breakfast and dinner. Only grumble is the bar staff had to be called at reception by guests during the evening."

"Lovely hotel in the very quaint Helmsley - our suite with a balcony overlooking the pool and hot tub was fabulous and spacious. All the team were friendly, efficient and courteous and very responsive. Complimentary parking and plenty of spaces was very welcome- always a plus . "
