"Food and service excellent, unfortunately the room smelt of damp really badly, the chimes from the church every 30 minutes kept me awake most of the night until I stuffed tissue in my ears, loud noise from cars passing on road, springy bed. Probably the worst nights sleep ever!"

"Quirky! Low ceilings, uneven floors, very old building. Landlord is friendly, as are the staff. Good breakfasts! Live music some evenings. Enjoyed the stay. Very convenient for visiting my mum!"

"The owner was so helpful and went above and beyond to get us to our event nearby. We had a very comfortable night; the rooms were clean with the usual facilities (tea and coffee) that you’d expect with bottled water and fresh milk provided in the fridge. The Inn is superbly located as just a few miles from Cambridge. A good choice of breakfast provided. Would definitely return. "

"I stayed at the Jester while I was in the area for business. Bas and his chef Derek bent over backwards to accommodate during what was a very difficult time for them at the tail end of the second lockdown. With no other staff to support them, and making preparations for the reopening, they still found time to make sure I had access to evening meals and breakfast, despite the fact they had no reason to open the kitchen, just to serve me. "One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The service was 11/10. Really attentive and friendly from all areas. Food menu not extensive but I enjoyed my meal. The pool was lovely. The changing room lockers being code rather than key was great and I liked the facility to be able to dry my costume. The room was spacious and modern with lots of plugs and had a separate shower as well as a bath. There was a fridge but it didn’t seem switched on. Didn’t faff but would have been nice if it was cold. Breakfast had a wide variety of options. Wasn’t the best I’ve had but was good. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended to a colleague. "

"Excellent staff. Beautiful room and hotel. Fitness center. Nice kitchen facilities in room well placed so didn’t feel like kitchen was in room— really well designed. Great bar and restaurant area. Easy walk to river Cambridge for walking/running. Easy walk to Cambridge city center. I will come back!"

"By the river, this hotel is ideally situated for exploring Cambridge. The staff are excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms are well appointed, cosy and very clean. We ate in the restaurant and can recommend it along with the bar where excellent cocktails are served. There's a large car park (unusual in Cambridge) which also has 6x EV chargers. "

"The Gonville is a beautiful hotel. Centrally located in Cambridge, it has a mixture of elegance and style. The rooms are very unique and brings back that feel of what UK hotels are renowned for.
