About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Perch, a canvas cottage with lake views and lake access. Glamping at its finest.

Welcome to Perch at Silver Springs, a family and pet friendly property!

We offer you a unique experience tucked up into the forest in a canvas cottage with lake access and peak-a-boo lake views! We've mixed the fun of camping with the comforts of a cottage. Come on out and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Shuswap Lake and hiking through 20+ acres of lush forest.

Looking to book for four people? Check out our other canvas cottage, Glow!

THE DETAILS:

This canvas cottage is well equipped with all the kitchen supplies you'll need for the BBQ with side burner. The side burner is the stove (single) for pots and pans plus we have a flat grilling surface you can place on the BBQ for frying as well. We supply the pots, pans, grilling surface, coffee, basic spices and oil... it's all in the pictures so that you're not guessing what to bring! Groceries and drinks can be purchased from the Blind Bay Village Grocer or our little Eagle Bay store. We're only 25 minutes from Hwy 1, so there's plenty of cell coverage.

We're running off the grid so we've provided lanterns for lighting. We do suggest bringing additional lighting to ensure late night meals and games are well lit. When our natural spring is trickling, there will be running water which means hot showers (with lake view!), a real toilet, and cold running water to a double sink in the kitchen with a separate tap with properly filtered water for drinking. If our spring has dried up for the season, typically in September but it is unpredictable as to when this may occur, then we supply 5 gallon water jugs which can be used for drinking, cooking, and filling the toilet tank.

Our section of beach is just across the road from this family-friendly Silver Springs property and is shared with the Lakehouse and one other canvas cottage. The walk is about 200m downhill and follows the driveway, crosses the road, and down a short path to the lake. The Whitehead Rd boat launch is just up the road if you want to explore more of the lake!

Internet is available but like all internet in rural Shuswap, it can be flaky and slow.

GUEST ACCESS:

The parking lot is about a 35 meter walk from the canvas cottage along a path. Our property is on a slope, and the driveway to the grassy parking lot is steep. If the driveway is wet, you may need to park at the bottom and hike your gear up 100m to your canvas cottage, so don't pack too heavy.

Privacy of our guests is very important to us. The space around your canvas cottage is for your exclusive use. The grassy parking lot is shared with one other guest staying in a canvas cottage on the property, and the giant sloped grassy field between the grassy parking lot and the Lakehouse can be used by all. There is plenty of space between the two canvas cottages so that you will have a peaceful and quiet forest retreat.

The walk to the beach is 200m downhill and can be hard to navigate for those with mobility challenges. Take a look at the pictures and written captions to get a good sense of the path. There is a very accessible beach only a 1 minute drive from our property called Shannon Beach, and is a great place to go for all ages and abilities. Shannon Beach also has a lovely hiking trail to explore.
