"Joe & Miriam (sp?) were very friendly and engaging hosts. We went to the Caracol Mayan site and also did a boat/swimming/waterfall tour. Joe is very knowledgeable about Mayan ruins. He is most enthusiastic about showing you his native country. Miriam is a great cook. We thoroughly enjoyed our jungle experience."

"Love the lodge feel and extremely kind and helpful staff. Our family stayed for three nights. Since driving the last mile was a little challenging, we opted to have dinners every night at the Lodge. Great service and wonderful food, but a bit on the pricier side compared to eating in town. We did the ATM excursion through the lodge. "I adore Edwin and his family. They took very good care of this solo woman traveler. He feed me very well!! The atmosphere was very authentic to how the locals live in the jungle. It is rustic. Shower did not have hot water.. I did have the room with a.c. Very nice. I will for sure go here again."

"Beautiful property, lovely experience but also not what we expected. I would consider this more of a working ranch than a resort, as we felt like it's more setup for locals to Belmopan and cowboys than it is to the average traveler. Nice food, good overall value. Kind of a strange cowboy guy who apparently owns the property who was a little overly friendly to my girlfriend out of the blue. However seems that locals love him and have good things to say. If you're up for something a bit different...

"On a whim, we chose to splurge and stay at the chial reserve Villa because it looked beautiful, and once we were there, we immediately called them and booked another night. The villa was incredible, absolutely immaculate! The gounds keepers and staff sooo friendly and helpful! "This is an exceptional resort. We stayed in the Mahogany cabana and it exceeded our expectations. It backed the river and was so pretty. The restaurant overlooks the river and is beautiful. The goat cheese platter was one of my favorite items on the menu. They make their own cheese. Be sure to visit their farm. We toured the Mayan ruins and also did the river tubing tour. We had a great time!"

Good location

"It was in a great location (near tourist area, walking distance to restaurants, and the market. The staff were very friendly. Nice hot shower. Clean room. Good wifi connection. There is no safe in the room and the door locknis not a deadbolt. The front desk offered to keep my valuables in their safe"

FANTASTIC PEOPLE!

"Great property and truly amazing people! In addition to providing super friendly and far above the usual service of very good hotels, they went far beyond in helping us resolve an issue with our rental car. While we waited we sat around the new pool and learned from employees about the birds and howler monkees we could hear. These people are awesome and that's why we always try to pay a visit each year when we come to Belize. "
