"The hotel was lovely, staff were all very friendly especially the cleaning staff, the room was immaculate as was the rest of the hotel. We booked a sea view room for the weekend from the pictures online thinking we would have seats looking out to the sea however the room simply had a high window, we could see the sea from it though! This was the only real downfall. The breakfast was lovely. The lounge area was beautiful. The room was a bit small for the price but had everything we needed however the bathroom was huge and the shower was THE BEST! "

"The host couldn't have done more for us. The Melrose is convenient for the shops although there was a short uphill walk to get back. The room although compact was clean, the bedding was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good, cereal, orange juice, Tea or coffee and a full english and there was also the offer of Manx kippers if you wanted them.. There are a lot of stairs up to the rooms but that is typical of the B&Bs in Douglas. If I have one slight criticism it's that we could have done with a couple of bedside tables to put things like phones, glasses and other things on as we could only leave these things on the shelf by the kettle. We would definitely stay here again."
