"Staff are lovely and so friendly. Breakfast was great. Only thing for me in terms of improvements is the rooms could do with an update, bathroom was lovely and looked recently refurbished but the bedroom was a little dated, maybe an upgraded bed and TV (and I appreciate we're in the most beautiful place in Wales so who needs a TV but after a long day of hiking I know I love to kick back and chill out, especially when it's February and too cold to sit out) and nowadays most hotel rooms have smart...

"We were met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist and this set the positive scene that was repeated by all the staff we met for the whole of the visit. The food was excellent along with the service that came with it. The hotel is as expected ie an old building in need of some repair that was full of atmosphere and history. The gardens, inhabited by the beautiful resident peacocks were well maintained and nice to walk around. We were only there for a weekend break but I could visualise how...

"We came to Shrewsbury to travel by train to Cardiff to go to see a rugby match. The Holiday Express was a perfect location. The staff were friendly, the bar and small restaurant were adequate - we had a light evening meal which was good. We stayed 2 nights, the room and bed were very comfortable and the breakfasts were absolutely superb - the best we have had in any hotel. It was also very quiet and safe to leave our car. "

"Room looks amazing, cleanliness is fair. Cleaner do a great job, walls could just do will a touchup of paint. Heating didn't work at through our stay, however there was an electric heater. But to use this would come them a fortune. Service in the bar was friendly and service amazing. Food was fantastic, they also had a great selection of beers for those who like that sort of thing.
