"My husband and I had a fabulous night at Daltons on Banana Island! The boat that ferried us across was complimentary and while the waters were choppy, we felt perfectly safe. Dress appropriately as your clothing will likely get wet! Daltons is rustic and simple. The room was clean and perfectly adequate. The meals were simple but tasty. "One of the better places in Freetown. Staff are lovely but not the best. I cant blame them for this as conditions in Sierra Leone have been difficult for 30 years and education is not easy. The owner and manager are very nice and help as much as they can. You must have some understanding when travelling to countries that arent famous tourist resorts. Be tolerant with the staff. "

"We had paid for reservation for 4 rooms for 4 people. Arrived late night/early morning 3.00 am and find out there are no rooms available because the hotel is being renovated. They directed us to go to a different hotel providing no further assitance. Why they accept reservation and payment when the rooms do not exist is any body's guess. They left us starnded. What if it was a family who has never travelled to Freetown before. Bad experience. "

"The service was excellent. The rooms are cleaned every day by very attentive staff. Ask for anything - you get it within 5 mins. The Operations Manager Sunil is very pleasant and responds quickly. I would give Sunil and the staff an A . The variety of food at the restaurant was ok. One area for improvement is the gardens around the chalets. At the time we went they were a little unkempt. I think we went in the slow season. This however did not take away from our fun."
