"Varese was a nice area to stay in after a long overnight flight , away from the city and in the rolling hills On Lake Varese. We drove 10 min to rent bikes and rode along the lake side path with our kids. The views were quite beautiful. Also had a wonderful dinner at a local restaurant. Rental car is a must to stay here and in the area. Needed to Provide an approx check in time as there is no reception desk per say, which was somewhat stressful to me as we were running glare after making...

"Pro's and cons: Pro's first: good location, a short drive from Luino, a good sized lakeside town. You can take ferries from Luino all round the lake, including to the Borromean islands. You'll have to spend some time aquainting yourself with the ferry timetable and a map of the lake. Nothing much goes on in Dumenza itself. "I stayed here as a I had a stop over flight and had arrived 4am and left at mid day next day. The airport transfer was good, it does cost 5-10€ but it arrived on time and the driver was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk was helpful and even offered free water on way out as I didn't have a water bottle in room. Wouldn't mind staying as a stop over but wouldn't recommend if you are in Milan for tourism, it's bit too far."
