"We went to calamandrana to discover my wife's ancestor birth place. The old town was awesome but most incredible was the hotel host Viviana. She help us a lot with the thing we need and explains everything about the town, history and families. Also she ride us to other city to certify some documents and to take the train! If you are going to calamandrana you should defenetely stay here!"

Only negative is lack of air conditioning or even a ceiling fan / any fan -- this made it challenging to sleep at night in late August; keep that in mind if you are coming from the US and used to lower sleeping temperatures. "A nice little inn , but in sort of a remote town with out much charm. Our room over looked the garage and a farm next door, so we heard chickens and roosters. The only negative with the room was the local dogs all bark at 2:00 am; I assume there were deer going through the area, but once one dog started, they all chimed in.
