"This is a small family run hotel and resturant. The owner is the chef, and the food is excellent. He has an extensive wine list, so if you are a connoisseur of wine- then this is the place for you! The resturant is amazing, beautifully lit with candles. The owner is a lovely person, and made my partners birthday weekend one which we will not forget. "I’ve stayed here many times so I was unhappy that changed in my plans was not accommodated on request. Poor customer service on Hilton’s behalf - I had requested to change my date and was declined. That said, the room was clean and the breakfast service and offer much improved from previous stays. Rooms are a little dated and never like a shower with a curtain but for the price and convenience you can’t grumble. Does feel like an uninvested Hilton though"

"Good price for the convenience of being within walking distance of the rail station and the town centre. No air con in our room though there was a fan. Our stay coincided with the hottest day of the year, up to that point. On hotter days, the room may become stifling. We reported to reception that the extractor fan in our room didn't work."

My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the bed was so comfortable that getting up in the morning was a real challenge — I finally got the proper rest I’d been needing for a long time. Yes, some of the facilities are a little dated, but honestly, that only adds to the hotel’s charm. It has a lovely historical feel that gives it real character. If I could change one...
