"This is not a nice hotel! The pictures are misleading, it looks like they are probably several years old. The hotel is much less inviting now. I guess it would be fine for travelers on a limited budget who don't mind very basic accommodations. The grounds were untidy with visible piles of garbage, the rooms were spartan and uninviting - the place looked more like a barracks than a hotel. I took one look at the place and my room, and left to find another hotel, even though I had already pre-paid....

"Good idea but lacks in execution. The only positives for me are the front desk staff and comfortable bed. On the negatives, the rooms are too dark and stuffy (install dimmers instead), cleanliness can be improved upon... some areas were dusty and there were blood stains (guessing mosquito blood) on parts of the mosquito net and bed sheets, the mosquito net had big holes, mosquito repellent spray was not available, shower inadequate."

A very good Hotel for 1970
"Hotel de la Poste is one of the 2 best hotels in the city. The hotel is old, with many problems, and needs renovation. The huge rooms, sea view, and helpful and smiling staff are on the plus side. On the downside, the nightly rate is 330000 MGA (£60). An excessive amount for a room that is old, with problems in the bathroom and sinks, with incomplete wifi, no change of towels and sheets daily, and no smart TV so that some tourist can watch their programs and not the jokes they have chosen. For £60/day I can have a 5-star hotel in Spain or a very decent and clean hotel by the sea on a Greek island. Also negative is the swimming pool which is dirty and you are disgusted when you enter it, the expensive dishes in the restaurant, and the kitchen which has no quality regarding the price. I suggest the hotel to review their policy in every area and refurbish it if they want to ask for this money"
