I rolled into Denpasar on my last night in Bali feeling a little sour both from having to leave and from my disappointing experience at a highly rated resort the previous night. My nerves were further jarred by the ear-splitting racket of the teeming girl's elementary school right across from Praja's lobby.
There anything negative I might have to say ends because my stay at this hotel was incredible. From the moment I got there, the staff was extremely attentive and focused on making sure my stay was pleasant. The room was spacious (plenty of room for yoga), the A/C and wi-fi were bangin', the bed was comfy. They have an in-house massage service as well -- the masseuse misunderstood what I asked her to do which was a bit annoying, but only because I find this happens all over Asia! The massage itself was great.
This is the best example of where Praja went above and beyond - I had to be up and out at 6:30 a.m. to catch an early flight, which meant missing breakfast. The wake-up call came exactly on time, and as I was frantically packing my bags, a knock came on the door. They had sent up coffee and toast to get me going. This was incredibly thoughtful and saved me a lot of time and made me feel much better. When I got downstairs, they had a driver ready to take me to the airport.
The location is in the city so it's not exactly near the hot spots, but it was an easy and cheap cab ride to Sanur Beach and there were restaurants nearby, so it was fine. If you need a
