"What a lovely surprise, overnight stop on returning to the Midlands from watching rugby in Cardiff. Impressive refurbishment of old historic building to create cosy pub/restaurent with rooms. "This was a delightful gem of a hotel tucked away amongst the green fields just minutes from Usk. Our room was ver comfortable and cosy with lovely furnishings. Don’t be deterred by the motorway as the rooms and pub have double glazing so it is silent inside. Breakfast was cooked to order and included full English. We also had dinner which we enjoyed. The owner and staff were efficient and friendly. We hope to get back! We would certainly recommend it."

"Lovely little pub not far out of Merthyr Tydfil and a 20 minute drive from Pen y fan. The double room was small but cosy for one and the was a good shower and plenty of tea. Service was excellent, with a warm welcome and useful information. I was there for two nights and the room wasn't refreshed but this wasn't a problem for me. Breakfast was excellent and there is a great selection of for for dinner in the pub for great prices."
