"We ßrrived later than expected due to traffic issues on the motorway,however the staff were great,very helpful and supportive of our situation.Made us feel very welcome.Lovely room and we enjoyed the vibe in the restaurant."

"Room was nice but small . Breakfast staff friendly. Considering it was double would.not expect bathroom to.have a small.cloakroom size sink with no where to put anything and shower cubicle not spacious . Bed comfy. Felt we got short straw on room . Bar feels odd having to register for a table to sit inside and felt conducive to a warm welcome. Chose not to eat in pub "

"Disappointed with breakfast especially for my partner who is coeliac and has to have gluten free food. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated but little things like a very rusty bin in the bathroom spoil the effect. "

"The queens is a great place for a couple of nights. Lovely staff , very attentive staff great food and drinks. Our Dog was very welcome and the outside facilities and car park were great. We were in an electric car so disappointed that there was no EV charging point. There are fast chargers in Penrith."

"Due to road closure it was a challenge locating hotel, but the stay was well worth it. Hotel was quaint, clean and efficient. The food was great and the staff was wonderful. Sue was exceptional!"

"The staff at the Boot and Shoe were lovely - they were friendly and helpful during our stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. The staff were really apologetic and gave us a complimentary round of drinks to make up for this. The room itself was fine. The bed was ok and the room was clean. "What a lovely old school pub and hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great (a lot of locals seemed to be eating here too). Room was simple but comfortable and very clean. There are a few areas that are a little tired and worn, but not to the level of impacting guests. I would be happy to stay here again"

"Very friendly staff in popular and welcoming village local. We only stayed one night and didn't eat here though the menu looked great. Obviously popular with locals and tourists alike for a small village it was busy on the Saturday night we stayed. Room was clean and comfortable though dated. The bed was a bit older than some but perfectly pleasant. The surrounding area is stunning with plenty to do within a short drive and lots of walking on your doorstep. Overall a most enjoyable stay. "

"Horrendous journey to the Fox and Pheasant. Worried we would miss the dinner cut off time we called through. Been traveling for over 10 hours! No problem arrive very tied to a lovely bowl of soup. Feel in to bed and had an amazing sleep. Set off next morning after a fantastic breakfast and a lovely packed lunch. Defo stop off again"

"We stayed 1 night. Our studio--sitting room, large bathroom, and bedroom--was very spacious with many amenities: coffee/water/materials for eating in. Well appointed--comfortable mattress, beautiful bedding, great bathroom--comfortable couch and small table for eating. Excellent value. More than 1 venue for food--different styles. We only sampled breakfast--the granola parfait was perfect. "
