I love walking through the Lavaux vineyards, just east of Lausanne. There is always something nice to see, and the view on the Lac Léman is just sublime. Add in the fall colours, and I fall in love all over again with this amazing place!

"The hotel did not have heating at night. Bedroom sheet was wet due how damp it was. We spoke to the owner multiple times, he did not bother to come and check on the heat. He complained that we left an apple and some other items at the room at the time of checkout. There was NO trash bag, trash can, or soap. "Cheap and very basic. Handy to find somewhere for £60 a night that has a fridge, mini kitchen. Underground parking cost extra. Breakfast was basic, not much choice. Worst thing was that it’s right on top of railway lines and from about 5am onwards you hear a loud alarm going off (to warn of an oncoming train) followed by the thunderous noise of the train going past "
