"Hotel was clean and welcoming. First impression in foyer is bright and modern. Room a little dated but personally I don’t care about that at all so long as it’s clean, which it was. I appreciated being able to open the window, a good shower with towels that actually fit around an adult, plenty tv channels and good supply of tea/coffee and biscuits. Sometimes thats just what you want when in a hotel for an evening! Staff were helpful and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend. "

"We had a 2 night stay to visit local National Trust properties. The owners are friendly and helpful and provide an excellent range of choices for breakfast. The only slight downside is that the rooms are on the small side. Although they don't serve other meals, they do allow you to bring in your own food and drink, or they will serve you drinks from the bar on demand. Most of the restaurants in the village are quite pricey, but the Foresters at the bottom of the village is better value and, although it's largely standard pub grub, it's very well cooked. "

"The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room was very large with a lovely shower ensuite. Parking was limited but they informed us we could get a permit at a local shop 4 days cost £15 which was reasonable and several carparks could be used ."
