"Our second floor room overlooked a quiet street, yet was just a short block from the town square. Yindra, our hostess, prepared excellent breakfasts for us, arranged for a long distance taxi trip, and pointed us to superb restaurants. I highly recommend this charming hostal."

"Expérience très satisfaisante avec une propriétaire chaleureuse et dévouée pour faciliter et agrémenter le séjour. Elle propose de préparer le repas sur demande. Le petit déjeuner est excellent et pris sur une terrasse avec vue sur l'océan. Le logement est situé à 300 mètres du centre ville et des salles de musique. Un parking peut être mis à disposition ce qui est très rare et vraiment un plus."

"Second night we stayed we returned at 11.30 to find that we were locked out. We had been told to just ring the bell. We rang the bell and knocked on the door for 10 minutes. Eventually a neighbour we had woken up with our banging on the door came to investigate. He phoned the concierge. She heard the phone (not the bell ringing/nor the knocking!)and opened the door. Our guide quizzed her the next day, she had fallen asleep! We were the only gusts that night. Poor service."

"Als wir ankamen,war unser Zimmer bereits an andere Touristen vergeben-ganz klar eine Abzockermasche dieses Casa. Die Hausherrin versuchte uns zu erklären,dass es sich um ein Missverständnis handelt,was aber klar nicht zutraff. Unbedingt die Finger von diesem Casa lassen-zumal die Unterkunft selbst,abgesehen von dem Meerblick,wirklich nicht schön ist,schlechter Geruch,sehr enger Durchgang,geringes Tageslicht,etc."

An excellent hostal run by a friendly young couple

"I enjoyed my stay at the Hostal, which is centrally located in Baracoa. The young couple who run it - the husband speaks very good English - is lovely, friendly and helpful. You can have breakfast at the top, on the terrace, with a very good view of the town and surroundings. They can also serve dinner if you wish, and the food they serve is better than the average restaurant in Cuba. The room I had was comfortable and very clean. Overall, the building is in very good condition and up to standards, on a par with family-run hotels in Europe. The power cuts are a problem in the town, but there is a generator that helps enormously. Internet access (WiFi) does not always work so well inside the room, but, as a rule, it works well in the reception area (except when there is a power cut, as this affects the internet network across town). Overall, an excellent hostal - one of the best I stayed at during my 4-week trip across Cuba in March 2025. "
