The owner, Francine, was very welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond on several occasions to make our experience the best it could be. There was access to wonderful hiking trails nearby, just be prepared for some steep inclines! One thing to note is that the resort area of Crans-Montana is very expensive, but there are many great things to do and see there....

"We first stayed here as the Bella Lui Hotel but it is now run by a youth hostel organisation. It has lost the charm of the private hotel and is now, because it is a hostel, more functional. The period furniture and ornaments have been replaced by standard facilities. However, the staff are very helpful and location is the key - within walking distance of Crans centre with some amazing views. But the breakfast is the big disappointment. "TIP for the SKIERS: at the hotel reception you can get a much cheaper ski pass (approx. CHF 54-59 per day) than at the ski site or on the internet. Don't forget to ask for it!! If you book through a portal (like Hotels.com) the hotel might not give you this important information. Good location but not ski in/ski out (10-15 min. walk to the nearest ski site). Nice view. Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. No kettle (no tea/coffee) available in the rooms. "
