"A former 15th century residence, Le Petit Manoir is long on charm but if you're not good with stairs, be sure to book a ground-level room. Our room, The Colette, was reachable only by a spiral staircase that is not for the faint-hearted. The ceiling beams were charming but head-bumping hazards if you're tall. We were traveling without a car and the staff was helpful in booking us taxis (a car would have been handy but we're getting too old to drive in France). Breakfast had lots a variety and great baked goods. The location can't be beat, and I'd imagine in the summer it would be quiet oasis mere footsteps from where the action is. We would recommend this hotel to friends who like historic properties."

"La Villa des Consuls is located in the heart of old Sarlat, with all the amenities that entails. The staff is nice and helpful, putting us in touch with a great guide and setting up our taxis to and from the rail station. Breakfast is tasty and reasonably priced, but above all, our two bedroom room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It also included a usable kitchen and a small balcony overlooking the main commercial street. Despite that, it was quiet. I highly recommend this hotel."

"We had a lovely stay at this wonderful home. We did a lot of research to get someone that had the feel of the area with character and charm and this home definitely nailed that. Very homely, traditional decor and furniture but all the necessities inside and outside the house you would need. Amazing views from the house/balcony was a real highlight, the best from all we looked at. House was clean, all practical things thought of with towels, linen, kitchen equipment.Nicole very kindly kept the pool open for us even though it was the last week of October and with sun every day with 23/24C it was much used! One thing to note - the location on VRBO map has the house in central Sarlat but it’s not, the listing rightly says it’s 3.5k outside Sarlat, so not sure why the map location is different. Also we wanted to be south of Sarlat near the Greenway cycle route and so we asked which side of Sarlat it was and were told by Louis, the booking assistant, that it was north of Sarlat and so we don’t book for the first few weeks of exploring but upon deciding to book anyway, discovered that it’s actually dead west of Sarlat which was better for us in the end. Otherwise all the communications were great and Nicole the host was amazing and helpful with lots of things and wanting to make our stay comfortable. We hope to visit again for sure!"

"If you wish to spend some time in Sarlat this property is in a great location. Mary-Bel is very helpful and responsive. There are lots of great French restaurants in walking distance from the apartment. Really too many to mention. Mary-Bel will offer recommendations and make reservations if you want her to do so. Unexpectedly we found one that we have to mention because you would think it would be there. Mama Momo is about a 10 minute walk away. It’s was Himalayan food and a nice break from the wonderful but sometimes kind of rich delights of Sarlat. Also if you are leaving on a Sunday, parking is free after 7:00 pm Saturday night. We parked on the main drag just down from the apartment Saturday evening. Then loaded up Sunday morning and headed out. It saved us having to wheel our bags up to the parking lot. "
