"Isolated but lovely. Great walks, but we got lost."

"We stayed in this beautiful 430-year-old building during a two-and-a-half day stay in Assisi. The building and its surroundings are atmospheric and scenic, and built from solid stone. It's within a few minutes walk of anything in the old city of Assisi. There was a great restaurant right out the back door that served fantastic Pappa al Pomodoro recipe. The owner and his son were very helpful, and own a nearby food store where we bought some breakfast and lunch items. The interior beds are good...

"Beautiful nice and safe"

"Overall it was a good place to stay. It’s a very simple place, which is great for Assisi. The biggest issue is the communication from the host. The host sent an email the day we were supposed to check in with crucial info to get in the property. The host didn’t tell us to look out for this email, and we didn’t have data, so we didn’t check our email when Wi-Fi was available. The host should have told us when we made the reservation to expect an email the day of check in."

"The room fantastic, the surroundings lovely and there is potential to be 5/5. However we had two problems body there made worse by temperatures close to 40C. When we arrived here was nobody there to receive us so we were stuck at the gate for 1/2 an hour until I got the attention of a guest by sounding the car horn. Guests finding a number and ringing on cell phones IS NOT an alternative to reception and for us from overseas not an option. Secondly the air conditioning only worked in fan mode...

"Unfortunately, we found serious inadequacies, for example: the lack of a key to lock the master bedroom on the ground floor (in the presence, moreover, of another couple of tourists walking past the door to go upstairs); the presence of numerous insects that traveled freely from the bed, to the walls, to the bedside tables; the toilet flush that took at least 20 to 30 minutes to refill; the kitchen equipment among cobwebs and small animals; the absolute absence of road signs indicating the site;...
