Enjoy the quietness, cool mountain breezes and breathtaking views of Spartilas. A fully equipped family home (in a central village location)with private plunge pool, patio and deck allows you to relax in a private oasis after the buzz of beach bars and restaurants in Barbati or Ipsos - a short drive down the mountain.
It is a completely detached, private home with gated parking for 2 cars. The quiet road at the front allows easy access at all times while the property backs onto the lush green slopes of the mountainside; hardly overlooked and quiet.
It is a 120 year old traditional stone building which means it stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The 2 bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs while the large living room and kitchen are on the upper floor; maximising the stunning views which reach as far as the south of the island. There is air conditioning in both bedrooms and on the top floor. Though often not needed as the 8 windows allow breezes easily to cool the house.
There is a small plunge pool (3.6m x 3.6m, 1,2m deep) on the upper terrace. This is accessed from a decked area with sun loungers. There is also a patio with an umbrella and chairs to the side if the pool. A grassy area to the right of the pool provides cool shade, as does another patio area to the right of the house. The garden is laid out in terraces and there are a lot of steps.
Spartilas is a traditional village. The house is located in the oldest part and therefore only a 5 minute walk from the centre which has a small bakery, mini market and 2 tiny cafes. There is a larger cafe a further 5 minutes up the road which also serves some simple food in the high season. There are tavernas within a 15 minute drive of the house - both down to the beach or up into the mountains.
For those that like hiking, the route to the top of Pantokrator passes through the village.
The beaches to the north of the island are a 25 minute drive through beautiful ancient olive groves. Corfu town - which can be seen from the house, is a 40 minute drive.
(It is essential to have a car - the village is not on a bus route; and the distance to the beach is too far for walking).
