"So many of Costa Rica’s boutique lodges in the Osa peninsula have been bought up by corporations and are remodeled to become boring and predictable with a corporate feel . "Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. "

"Jinetes de Osa is a nice place, run by nice folks. The rooms are spacious and clean. Ours had 4 beds. The room had bars of soap, but no shampoo, conditioner or other amenities. However the biggest miss was knowledge that there are 270 steps to climb to get to the room. The view was spectacular, The restaurant, a separate business, was very good. "Casa pequena is a lovely place held by a genuinely nice young couple. For nature and simplicity lovers this place is like heaven. Comfort is basic overall and the owners offer the option to have lunch and dinner on site with good local food. Internet access is a scare ressource only accessible from the main building for the time being but you don't really go there to spend your day on social networks. This is better to have your own car and a 4x4 is needed to access the site and the beaches...

"Consider this more of a rustic camping-like experience. Cabins have screens, but bugs still come in. Incredible location! Spider monkeys were swinging above our cabin every morning, holwers start up at day break, and capuchins befriended us at the beach. Scarlett macawas everywhere, we saw them constantly, as well as toucans. The beach immediately out front is wavy and rough, but my kids still jumped in the waves daily. The highlight is San Josecito beach, a 17 minute walk along the ocean. It is a calmer bay with a reef and plenty of fish. We swam with a 4-5 foot sea turtle for half an hour. This place was deserted until noon every day. Food was excellent, fresh and traditional. They make fresh fruit juices daily! Staff are very lovely and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. It was a very memorable part of our trip and we felt fully immersed in the jungle at ocean forest."

Excellent location & comfortable home

"We loved our stay in Drake’s Bay - Debra’s home is very comfortable and has everything you need for a fantastic stay. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bedrooms have lots of storage room and the AC works very well in each room. We loved sitting outside with the fabulous view over the bay, especially at sunset. The house is perfectly located for day tours to Corcovado, only minutes walk to the boat pick up and drop off. Also there are many great restaurants nearby in walking distance, Kalaluna Bistro was one of our favourites! Jose was a great help and there for when we had any questions. The house was exceptionally clean and peaceful. Would recommend staying here for anyone looking to explore Drake’s Bay and Corcovado. Thank you Debra for everything! "

"The staff was very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. They made using the boats to and from Sierpe quite easy as they answered all questions via whatsapp before we even arrived! We had breakfast and dinner at the restaraunt. Both meals were great! Overall had a great time. The ocean view was definitely a must!"
