"Such a cute old farmhouse with just the right amount of modernization. Peaceful setting without having to drive on beat up back roads. The bedding is fabulously soft and cozy. We will absolutely be back."

"The 2 river cabins are great. They were a little hard to find. The hosts Mark and Jan were great. The rooms were clean and the kitchens and bathrooms were well stocked. To get to the bathrooms you had to go through a bedroom which was a little inconvenient. The location on the river was wonderful. We were able to fish, swim and kayak. Nearby restaurants were convenient and Brooks lake was just a short drive away. I would definitely recommend this place for a short getaway. "

"I originally booked this as a place to stay after we went to the Taylor Swift concert in Indianapolis. It’s about a 15-minute drive off the freeway and I passed through a couple of small towns to get to our destination. One would never guess that this lies hidden within this building. We thoroughly enjoyed it and have talked about a girls’ trip here in the future. I would stay here again."

"The pictures uploaded are either very old, or doctored. Bed sheets had stains on them with black light. Cameras installed throughout the inside of the home. No running water when we arrived. We checked into a motel, and then owner tried to charge me $2000.00 for "water damage", when there was no running water and we never stayed."

"We loved the home along with all of the amenities. If your contemplating on which house to stay in choose this one! Cindy provided so many extras! From blankets, towels, kitchen dishes to seasonings & even the basic “staples” in the refrigerator along w snacks. Very beautiful home with character . Thankyou opening your home up to us . We will return! "

The main kitchen overlooks the pond and the Summer Kitchen.

"We were a group of 6 siblings and a couple of their spouses. We had a great time. This is close to everything in Richmond (including Galo’s, a wonderful restaurant) but when at the home you are secluded. We got lots of use of the porch swings, fire pit, outside kitchen, lake (fishing), outside dining, etc. everything was as described and the host was amazing. Kevin and Chris treated us like family. "

"I work in the area and have stayed almost everywhere. This house is WAY better than anything by Richmond. Secluded, quiet, good for downtime. No TV which was a shock but not a problem for me. It was very relaxing and nice. The house is HUGE and great. It has a big back porch and a nice yard. The communication was perfect. "

"The Brownsville River Lodge was absolutely charming and in a perfect location for a peaceful getaway. My brother and I grew up visiting family in Brownsville, so we were thrilled to discover this new rental in town. It gave us the chance to show our boys what it was like.
