"Alberico's house is simply enchanting and so is the hamlet of Ponzanello. You really feel like you're stepping back in time (except you have access to all the modern amenities which is great)! The location is perfect if you have a car, about a hour drive to Cinque Terre, plenty of vineyards and other medieval villages to visit in the surroundings."

"First the owners and care taker Victoria are wonderful people. The home was much more “rustic” than we expected. AC can only be run at night and works intermittently. The shower and toilets are a combination sort of deal. So you shower on a wooden crate they provide while the shower curtain separates you from the toilet. It is close to Pisa, Lucca, Pietrasanta, the beautiful Ligurian Sea, as well as the Cinque Terre and the jaw dropping marble quarry of Carrara . "We stayed at the house this summer for 10 days and ended up wishing we had booked at least two weeks. The house is lovely and features a lot of privacy. The pool is great and the amenities of the house as advertised. Francesca was great with her advice and about things to do and 0laces to eat and always available for questions. "I get the feeling the owners have just bought this house & are just starting to rent it out. It seems they have upgraded some parts of the apartment but others are old i.e. the kitchen doors look new, but the carcasses are very old. The lounge felt like it was missing a tv. "Paolo’s property was perfect for me and my family. It is clean, spacious and very well presented. It is a perfect location for exploring the Garfagnana region and close to plenty of local amenities. "We were a group of three adults and six children that stayed in the house for four nights. We loved this great place that is tucked away in the greenery and has stunning views. Mauro, the owner is very friendly and helpfull. There is a pizza oven outdoors and a huge table so many can eat together. The drive up and down was a little hairy the first time but something we got used to fast. We would definately come back to this gem of a house!"

"The old mill is beautifully renovated with all the amenities needed for a very relaxing stay. The pool was always clean and when we had small problems with the lights the host came right away and took care of it. It's right next to a creek which is perfect for a quick bath in the morning. Elisabetta is the best host and the area around the house very beautiful. We would always come back."

"Il Nido offers wonderful views in a very private setting. It is a 12 minute drive to Fivizzano so you’ll want to plan your groceries for the stay.
