"The house is an absolutely stunning location. Breath taking views every morning, even if the weather did always play ball. There are some lovely areas to walk in and explore nearby and a few very nice local restaurants but these can get booked up very quickly. Even when it was raining we enjoyed our stay as the dense forests provided plenty of cover and there are excellent trips to caves and nearby cities such as Lucca and Barga that are easy drives. "Beautiful location, we had nice terrace to sit out on overlooking pool. Not sure all rooms as good. Rooms are in a partially restored village and quite basic but in character. Views of green hills and distant mountains great. We were surprised though that village is some 800 meters above reception and restaurant down steep road . "this was a beautiful, peaceful setting with spectacular views of the mountains. I choose to purchase breakfast and dinner each day, and the food was delicious. I have celiac disease and they were excellent in providing gluten free food. I had crepes, pancakes, and a lovely bread for dinner that was sort of like a thick pita but a bit denser (in a good way).
