" A lovely villa with excellent facilities. The downstairs living, dining & kitchen area is very spacious. Kitchen well equipped. The outside areas are vast , including a BBQ area, which we used several times and a pizza oven which we did not try. The swimming pool is lovely, possibly one of the nicest pools we have had. The pool and housekeeping was every few days which was ideal. Any issues were promptly responded to by George and usually sorted out by his wonderful father. Checking in and out was an easy process, we were met both on arrival and departure by George’s father. On arrival there was a bowl of fruit, water in fridge and some Raki! As a parting gift we were given some cheese which I believe was produced by the family. Overall a very relaxing holiday, the villa was just outside the local town which meant we had lots of privacy. There is also a small flat at the base of the house which comes with the villa, ideal for grandparents etc. Local town was a little over 10 minutes walk with cafes, tavernas and super markets. Lots of other tavernas within 15 minute driving range. At some point we will return to Crete and would certainly stay here again. "

"Villa has fantastic views of olive groves and distant sea views. Beds and linen made our stay very comfortable and kitchen extremely well equipped. Outside dining area and BBQ superb. Location 5 minutes away from main highway and although quite a steep hill to negotiate you are rewarded with those fantastic views"

"We’ve just returned from two weeks in Crete, the second of which was spent at Villa Asteria. We’ve stayed in many places around the UK and Europe and this has been our favourite. It is a beautifully built villa in a stunning location with views of the White Mountains on one side and views down to Souda Bay and there are plenty of places at the property to sit and enjoy sunrise or sunset. The property inside is immaculate and built and kept to a very high standard indeed. A lot of thought and care has been put in by Samatha and Jerry into the villa and they also provided a very warm and friendly welcome and excellent communication ahead of the stay. The pool was lovely and in addition to the sun loungers and umbrellas, there were plenty of other shady spots under trees to escape the sun if needed (it was very hot during our stay), and there was always the bonus of bumping into one of Samantha and Jerry’s friendly pet cats in the shade! In terms of location, we enjoyed being somewhere more rural but still close to Chania and beaches. It felt a bit more like authentic Crete and that made the stay even more enjoyable. The time at Villa Astoria really made our holiday in Crete for us and as a family, we’d definitely recommend it."

So many extras which made for a perfect holiday From being met on arrival and showed the way to the property and a really lovely thoughtful gift on departing. With regular contact throughout our 3 weeks. Even dropped us off a homemade cake which was lovely. It really was a lovely villa with amazing views in an idyllic location. Katerina made us feel very welcome and went that extra mile to make sure our holiday was just everything what it should be ❤️"

"If you are seeking a secluded, quiet stay in authentic Crete White Mountains foothills, this is the spot for you! Beautiful stone villa with gorgeous windows. Very clean and property was accurately listed. The owners were very helpful to guide us there and also gave great advice and shared knowledge about where to go on Crete. They also had some food stocked for us which was really appreciated especially able to have a coffee or tea with milk and toast with cheese or honey the next morning! We were there during a short heat wave so it was hot. We had dinner in Fres as suggested and it was like having a home cooked/family authentic Greek meal on a beautiful courtyard & had we not stayed here, we most likely wouldn’t have made it up to Fres and it was incredible. For those who love this type of travel like we do, this is a great place."
