"Nice landscaping, quiet villas among lush greenery, lots of food and massage options nearby. We booked a suite with private pool, garden view, and had the feeling of complete privacy. Breakfast and service very nice.Only downsides were unreluable Wifi and moody AC. Room was spacious enough but wardrobe, shower, bathtub and toilet are all within the same space, no doors between them, and poorly isolated from rest of the room."

"Check in was smooth and easy. Had to carry bags quite a long way to the room. Ohm assisted us to our room and showed us the details of the resort. She was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was when we asked at checkin for a little later checkout. The man who checked us in very abruptly said “no, noon is the checkout time…we’re completely booked”. He said this without looking or letting him ask how much additional time we were wanting."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Melia Samui. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous and the service was exceptional. We stayed in a Club Level Room and it was certainly worth the upgrade. The rooms were fantastic, great size and very comfortable beds and pillows. The rooms were on the ground floor so they had direct access to the wrap around pool that goes around the hotel. Great for an afternoon swim. We have to thank the staff at The Level as they really made our holiday special. They were all so lovely and welcoming, we didn't want to leave. Special shout outs go to Maya and her lovely team, Auong, Sky, Mamai, Dew, Keng, Queen, Seen and Lisa. They all looked after us at The Level. The breakfast at The Level was perfect, there was a lot of choice and was part ala carte. We tried the breakfast at the normal breakfast area which was also great but it felt more relaxing and special at The Level. The evening cocktails and canapes were also a bonus. We had great weather the whole time we were there so the sea was beautiful. The bay itself is beautiful although I thought it was a bit too crowded. Another special mention goes to Bauw who looked after us on the beach or around the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel. "

"The Hotel and food were great. Our ocean front one bedroom villa was outstanding with its own plunge pool. Worth the extra expense. Also the Thai Massage at the spa was outstanding. We highly recommend it. The beach fire walker show was very well done. Great place to catch some rest and downtime after travelling several destinations in Thailand. "

"Lovely place and friendly near sea"

"Do yourself a favour, stop browsing and just book this hotel. It is absolutely wonderful - we had the hillside villa with the pool and it was stunning, tucked away and private with the most amazing hot tub/bath and pool with a sea view. The whole place is nestled amongst nature, the beach is beautiful and quiet and you really get the sense of blending in with the natural environment. The facilities - spa, both pools, gym - were excellent, never too crowded and really well maintained. The restaurants were good quality - shout out to breakfast buffet in particular. Sure, the food and the spa are more expensive than going out to eat locally but nothing crazy. We were able to leave the resort and head to the nearby towns / villages easily using Grab/local taxis. Really what makes this place special though is the staff. From the warm welcome through to lots of little, personal touches throughout our stay, we felt well looked after. All of the staff were wonderful but special shootout to Kookin, Noey, Pang and the gentleman who does the Muay Thai classes (one of the best things we did in our whole trip) for really putting a smile on our face. Can't wait to come back again. "

"Absolutely gorgeous and a great stay. Pros: Newer, reserved clean beach, pool in room, spacious, quiet, safety, helpful staff Cons: Mainland access, very slow service at beach cafe (except Tony Da, he was awesome), housekeeping oversights We were upgraded upon arrival from ocean view villa to the horizon view and that’s got to be the best villa. Incredibly gorgeous view, very private shielded, stairs down to private sofa at dock, pretty sunlight near dusk. The pool is shallow (3.5 ft) and stayed perfectly clean. The room is large with great air conditioning and the big bed was very comfortable. We requested 2 beds far in advance of our stay and only upon arrival learned that 1 would be a metal cot. Unfortunately the metal cot was painful and smelled mildewy. We asked housekeeping to make up the sofa instead, but those sheets had a stain of something dark and sticky. The bathroom is very spacious with 2 closets and 2 sink spaces on either side. The shower was large but needed to be cleaned more thoroughly around the bottom edges as there was dark buildup . Please be aware that shower water gets unsafely hot. The island is hilly but they offer buggy rides (very easy to ask). Daytime there’s a small 4 person boat for the 2-3 min journey from the mainland, it can be dirty and on our last day our luggage got soaked. At night there’s a tall truck that’s much easier. There’s a busy beach club across the water (semi-walkable through low water). Breakfast is PHENOMENAL!!"
