"Stayed overnight on NYD. Ellie on check in was nice and friendly parking permit was given and check Inn was allowed at 130pm which was great as it was raining all day. Room was ok basic but clean nice comfy bed. We ate in the restaurant and it was ok nothing special. Breakfast was lovely friendly staff choice was plentiful just no poached eggs or fried due to kitchen issues."

"Been here before so knew what to expect. Lovely room with modern facilities right in the centre of town. Great staff and the building is nearly 400 years old so fabulous atmosphere. Be aware that as the room we had (3) is right over the bar, so can get noisy "

"Stayed in the single room with a dog. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and a good size with single bed. The shower room was of a good size. The room overlooks the garden, some car parking and partial view of a road from the village. Out of season this room was lovely and quiet and suited my needs. "I stayed two nights in Castleton in mid-November amid some early snow which made the village and the walks around the hills stunning. But the real treat came after a long day of hiking when I was able to return to a cozy pub to have a hot meal, a pint of ale and a nice read by a roaring fire. "Great modern building with spacious rooms. The bathroom was luxurious - featuring a bathtub and separate shower. The soaps smelled wonderful Also - nods to the bands New Order and Joy Division throughout the property "

The best place to stay in Central Manchester !

"What a fantastic place to stay in central Manchester ! The hotel was super comfortable, spacious and relaxed. Spotlessly clean and the breakfast had so much choice and was excellent all round. However, by far the standout part of our stay at The Alan was…….the staff. James and his team were outstanding and made is feel incredibly welcome, nothing was too much trouble and all the restaurant and bar staff were amazing too. Great job everyone! "

Perfect stay

"Absolutely stunning hotel. The rooms are unreal, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was amazing and very clean and spacious. Wonderful staff. I can’t wait to return soon hopefully. Would highly recommend. Perfect location, especially if going to see a show. Just a walk across the road from the Theatre as well as Oxford Road station."

"Great location, great staff on site. However, telephoning in advance about the parking discount was inconsistent and wrong. The staff onsite did rectify in a manner, which was good but staff need to be trained to all understand and give the same information"

Holiday Inn Manchester - City Centre, an IHG Hotel

Excellent pre-Christmas break

"We arrived far too early for check in but the staff still tried to find us a room. This wasn’t necessary as we were planning to explore the city. But as soon as we arrived the lobby, reception, and restaurant were all very well maintained and decorated charmingly for the Christmas period. Our room was spacious and comfy with tea, coffee, snacks and quality shower products provided. We ended up having our evening meal in the restaurant and both the service and food were great. Breakfast wasn’t quite so good due to the volume of guests waiting for hot food. Nether the less, the food on offer was still tasty. So overall we had a great trip, just a shame about the Manchester weather. "
