"Hotel was a great location and the bar was great. Breakfast was nice but the full English could be bigger, you get one of everything, 1 egg, 1 hash brown etc… What let the hotel down for us was the cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was dated and unclean, the shower needed a good scrub and the kettle, coffee machine etc in the room were covered in dust. "Such a magical place to stay for the nearby town. All of the Harry Potter filming locations were awesome to see and the town was so chill. There was something very D&D about checking in with the bar keep to get a room at the Inn above the pub. We absolutely loved staying here, and everyone was extremely kind. "

"The bar has an exceptionally friendly atmosphere and an open fire just like pubs used to have engendered to a large extent by the charismatic French landlord. The food was excellent, our room was clean and comfortable and whole atmosphere was superb. We'll be back!"

"Perfect stop off and quiet when windows closed. It is expected with heavy traffic route. The pub is lovely and cosy atmosphere. Great food thoroughly recommend the menu and a good warm pub meal."

"Fantastic service by all the team for our family stay over Christmas. A family member was unfortunately taken ill and the team looked after us extremely well - more than we expected them too. Rooms were clean, comfy and spacious. Couldn’t recommend more highly."

"The Hat het is a loverly picturesque pub/ hotel. Welcome excellent, food and ambiance perfect. VFM good. The thing that let it down was cleanliness of the room- smeared bathroom mirror looked like it was cleaned with a soiled cloth ( had to clean it to see any reflection!) the toilet rim covered in hair & dust & the lamp shades & corners of the room rife with cobwebs. We did enjoy our stay however and we did report the room dissatisfaction to the young service lady but no apology or explanation...

"We stayed for 2 nights for a special birthday. The communications beforehand were informative and friendly. When we arrived the welcome was warm and the property was lovely. It was exactly as described as well as being clean and well equipped. The outside space was also excellent with a good sized, enclosed and safe garden.
