Hosts were quick to respond. Hot tub was excellent - very clean. There were no household products so if you stay here bring toilet roles and fairy liquid! "

"It was a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing place to celebrate turning 60 with husband, two adult children and the dog! Booked only a week before so only had two nights... we should have booked longer. Planning to return very soon. The lodge is very comfortable with high end finish pretty much throughout. It is very spacious and yet cosy... we loved the covered decking outside. We sat in the hot tub drinking champagne while it poured with rain - something I have always wanted to do. Thank you to...

"Cannot recommend enough superb in all aspects very quiet area away from busy lives. Very clean everything you need for a perfect stay plus extra personal touches from the host ie fresh flowers and home made cakes. Lots of walks nearby and loved seeing the sheep and chickens every morning when you wake up."

"Had an amazing stay at stairway to Devon. Nathan and Helen are fantastic hosts from start to finish. The cabin is stunning with all the added extras that make it special. The cabin is immaculate with everything you need for your stay. I think the local cider and homemade chocolate brownies was a really nice touch. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat with your partner with amazing views of the countryside then this is the place for you. Will definitely be back. Our two chocolate Labradors...

"Terrible dirty no shower when on the site a shower in the hut .Mattress no protected cover pillows no protective cover mattress was full of stains and smelt of urine .Couldn’t charge phone absolutely terrible."

"Wow, we had a 3 bedroom lodge with hot tub, and it was absolutely perfect 👌 Clean, spacious and beautiful views. Staff were very helpful, had to call as the boiler went off, they arrived promptly and fixed in 2mins. Shout out Will, great quiz and funny bingo night. Would come back in a heartbeat 💯"

"A superb stay in a beautiful setting. The rooms are superb, as is the service and the general ambience. The Great Western Grill provides an excellent dining experience, very much in keeping with the hotel. Perhaps worth avoiding Smith's Brasserie though, which seems devoid of character, and to have been lifted from a nearby chain hotel. There are plenty of excellent pubs nearby though, so this isn't really an issue. "

"Very nicely appointed bedroom. The bathroom was very nice, clean and looked brand new. A sofa in the room meang that we could watch TV without having to sit on the bed. We had dinner at Carriages next door and this was very good quality. Lots of parking around the hotel. An excellent gym with good quality, new equipment. Overall an excellent stay even though we only stayed one night en route to the South West"
