"I imagine this hotel was nice… 20 years ago when the photos advertising it were taken. Such a shame because it’s a nice building in a lovely area. I can’t speak for the original building itself, maybe those rooms are better kept, but we were placed in the outbuilding across the way and the rooms were incredibly tired and shoddy, with chipped paintwork and soiled carpet. "Good welcome, room was lovely and warm and bedding clean and plenty of pillows and spotlessly clean towels. Nice touch of biscuits and chocolate. Great location and good price. Sadly there were signs of mould around the door and bathroom tiling could do with a more intense cleaning of the grout as orange/yellow build up, plus I shared the bathroom with two very large spiders that were well established as had webs in corners. Having said this, I would use the Wellington again as really convenient...

We chose from the pub menu, special mention to the fish and chips, perfect! Accompanied by a good choice of drinks, with beer from the local Thornbridge brewery.
