Fort Benning's first mission was to provide basic training for units participating in World War I. With the end of that war, Benning was closed until the Army could find another use. The first tenant unit was the Infantry School, which General George Marshall commanded beginning in 1934. The Infantry School is still located at Fort Benning, as are the wooden permanent buildings completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's.

"My brother, our kids and I (3 adults, 3 teens, 1 toddler) all met up in GA for my daughter’s turning blue ceremony and AIT graduation at Fort Moore and stayed at this property for 4 days/3 nights. This property was very spacious, clean, cute and had the main necessities in the kitchen to get by, along with plenty of bath towels for each guest. I was so happy to see the Keurig and coffee cups! "Came to town to visit family. House was in a quiet neighborhood and close to stores and restaurants. Very clean. Loved sitting out on back porch and looking at the pool. Looking forward to staying again in the summer and using the pool. Little too cold in December!! Check in was easy and fast response from host."

"We booked this incredible home for our son’s Army graduation ceremony/family weekend & it was absolutely perfect! Hard to explain just how big it actually is. We only had 8 people staying but it easily could have held 16. Location is in a quiet country setting but only 15 mins from all city amenities & roughly 30 mins from Fort Moore. Highly recommended! The host was very friendly & helpful as well."
