"The rooms were large and comfortable and breakfast was adequate. Parking will be an issue during peak holiday season. And, accessing the property in a large vehicle will be impossible since the road is SO NARROW. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay and we were able to walk everywhere within Avola. Most restaurants were already closed for the season when we visited in early Nov so bear that in mind if you plan to visit during the off season."

"Giampaolo and everyone else we met were extremely helpful, kind and accommodating. I cannot say enough about the hospitality - perfect! We loved the short walk to the gorgeous beach, and that there were quite a few delightful restaurants within a short walk as well. The room was very clean and pretty. "

"Stefano clearly goes way out of his way to help his guests. Saw him helping guests with a Sicilian rental car agency that required much diplomacy. Breakfasts were wonderful, very unique savory and sweet options. Was able to arrange for laundry, very needed after 8 days of travel. Very knowledgeable about Siracusa."

"The Hotel Osai is a beautiful hotel that is meticulously clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. My issue with the hotel is there was no staff onsite during the day. Wonderful location, property fine but a bit faded

"We had - 14 of us, 11 adults three children - a really good week at Borgo Alto. The location is stunning and the space is great. As a former hotel, the accommodation is a bit odd for a big family group - with separate rooms in different buildings, but it worked well. The only thing it lacks is a comfortable lounge area. There is a dining room, but mainly you have to sit in hard chairs. But - even in the last week of October - we were able to spend most of our time outside. The setting of which is like a millionaire’s. The pool was well used, despite not being heated, and the view from it spectacular. It has to be said, though, that although everything was clean, there was a good deal which was faded. Towels s bit thin, bedding ditto. But the location and the weather overrode all of that, easily. "

Beautiful Sicily

"We had a fantastic stay at this villa which is in an amazing location - only 15 minutes from Avola (shops, beach, restaurants) but way up in the hills in a really peaceful location, best of both worlds. Communication with Paolo was perfect and prompt. Highly recommended if you want a real break away from it all. "

Beautiful villa with wonderful hosts

"Unfortunately our trip didn't go as planned as our son was ill but Isabella and Corrado were so kind and did everything possible to help. They are lovely people and wonderful hosts. The villa itself is lovely, especially the outside area, and the surroundings are stunning. You definitely need a car but the isolation means peace and quiet and great views. Unfortunately we didn't get to explore the area so hopefully we can return one day."

"We had two ‘Comfort Rooms’ and our whole stay was EXCELLENT from the moment we arrived. We were formally welcomed by the owner add seen to our rooms which were really lovely, spacious, modern and very well presented with a lovely bottle of wine. The facilities around the complex were very clean, secure, privates and the pool area was good size and fabulous! Breakfast was very varied from choices of cereal, cheeses, eggs, bacon to whole range of yummy cakes! All the staff were GREAT! very polite, happy to help and always smiling! The beautiful sandy beaches of Avola are 10mins drive away. The whole stay was FABULOUS and can’t rate the place high enough, other to say I travelled the whole of Sicily and this is one of the best places we’ve stayed as a family -Go experience it and enjoy your time in Avila, Noto, Siracusa and all the other surrounding towns. "

Home away from home

"I stayed in this wonderful home for 3 weeks. I have stayed in many villas over the years in various countries, and this is among the best. The house is a true home from home, exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. The communication beforehand was great and I was met by Enzo whom I followed up to the house. Yes, it's a narrow and very windy road but after the first couple of times was absolutely fine. The house is very secluded and private with spectacular views. Due to the altitude, there was always a very pleasant breeze which made lying by the pool bearable as there are no parasols (due to the windiness of the setting). Giorgio and Lucia (the owners) were at the house to greet me and gave me a very warm welcome. The welcome package was by far the best I've ever had - including wine, olive oil (made from the olives in the house grounds), eggs (from their own hens), fresh fruits and vegetables (from their own garden), water, coffee, bread. I had actually been to the supermarket in Avola to stock up before I went to the villa - and pretty much everything I had bought was provided, so my advice would be not to do that before you arrive! The house itself is spotlessly clean and superbly equipped - there was nothing I needed that wasn't provided. It is about a 15-20 minute drive to the nearest town (Cassibile) and about 25-30 minutes to Avola / Noto, so a car is most definitely required. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay here and I will definitely be back!"

Great holiday let

"The house is spacious and comfortable, situated in a quiet but convenient area. Avola is 5 minutes away, the motorway linking Messina, Catania, Siracusa and Gela is also a few minutes drive from the house.A car is essential. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. If we had a problem they responded immediately. As for this area of Sicily there is lots to do. Beach lovers are well catered for and there are plenty of possibilities for hikers. The beautiful towns of Siracusa, Noto, Ragusa and Modica are within easy reach. We would certainly love to go back."
