"Chiara is an exceptional host, easy to contact and had lots of great tips on where to go. You do need a car to visit all the wonderful towns and beaches nearby. I wish we had stayed longer as we couldn’t fit everything into one week. We particularly liked Noto, Ragusa and Marina Di Ragusa for the beach. The nearest town Sciciliis a fantastic place to eat in the evening as it is only a 12 minute drive and has so many good restaurants. The pool is really a plunge pool but good enough for cooling...

"Nous avons passé 17 jours chez Michele et Angela qui sont vraiment très accueillants et facilitent toutes les démarches et tracas. "I had been looking at several villas in the area, but when I saw this one, I knew it was the one I wanted, however in the Vrbo brochure it says it is a short walk to the church, but it is a 15 minute drive, apart from that it looked good. On arrival I was greeted by Salvo who was lovely, his English was not great, but I am trying to learn Italian so it was good practice for me. The villa was even better than it looked. "Le Maria is a very nice house with a wonderful pool and garden area. A happy herd of cows lives on the other side of the garden wall and the clanging of their bells gives a tranquil countryside feel. The owners Graziella and Sara were extremely helpful and responsive. We did not have the problems with electricity mentioned in other reviews. The kitchens (there are two) are generally well equipped but some more pots, pans, kitchen knives and chopping boards would be good to have."

"The house is better than the photos portray. It is quiet, feels almost rural, and is within an easy walk to the town square. The garden looks out over the sea across a mini vineyard and beautiful tropical plants. We spent so much time in the southern 'conservatory' where we could enjoy the view and stay cool - even though it was early September when we were there. "This hotel building, carved into the stone, survived the 1693 earthquake and is over seven hundred years old. Josepi, on his second day at work, was an enormous help in parking my car, which was a midsize MG SUV. He went over and above what was expected. Breakfast was a joy with great staff, that would make you coffee exactly how I wanted it and kept it coming without having to ask. Sparkling wine awaited you in the cavern-like separate sitting area upon arrival after a stressful drive, before checking in. Linda and Eugenio gave us incredible service making reservations at restaurants for us and advice on visiting Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa. Linda phoned a restaurant for me when I thought that I had left my hat behind. The atmosphere of the hotel more than made up for the somewhat tight quarters of our room which could be accessed from the street, or by going up a spiral staircase cut int0 the stone behind the front desk. Service at it’s finest."
