Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
While new, La Isla's villas are quite compact and enclosed. There is no living area other than the small balcony next to the smallish pool.
There is no dining table and breakfasts were eaten off the coffee table, and sitting on the couch.
The pool looked a bit murky and sure enough, I developed swimmer's ear after the first day.
The main problem with this property is the management, who clearly have little or no experience of the hospitality industry. Eg despite offering breakfasts, there is no kitchen on the premises and meals are cooked off site and transported to the villas. The meals are assembled and served from a small room behind the small reception desk.
And for reasons unknown, breakfast dishes would still have not been removed until later in the afternoon.
We went on a driving tour one day and were leaving early. We arranged a wake up call and were told they would prepare a snack for us before we left. There was no wake up call and no snack.
Bizarrely, there is no conventional TV service. You can only watch youtube videos and, despite asking twice what movies I could watch, was unable to find anything that didn't require up front payment. Thus, I was unable to watch any international sport, including Wimbledon when we were staying at the property.
There are no tea and coffee making facilities.
In the end, we left with a couple of days remaining on our booking and moved to villa around the corner which was more spacious in every regard. And cheaper.
