This is a typical American, chain-style, large hotel with a relatively good price point. We used this hotel as a stop-over from Isla Mujeres the day before our flight. They offer free airport shuttle every 1/2hour, complimentary breakfast, and a nice pool area with hot tub too (it was too hot for my Canadian a$$, but others liked it), and other amenities. Clean and organized with professional staff. My only gripe is the dinner options at the hotel restaurant. BUT i will temper this in that its a hotel restaurant, we werent there for a dinner experience, we were there as a stop-over for our flight out. Fir us it was a great option, a relaxing way to get get to the airport from afar without rushing.

We were surprised at check in with an extra $50 charge for our 12 year old, even when the property details say that every guest is considered adult, they claimed that children over 12 have to pay extra as adult and when I paid for rhe room the ages were disclosed properly, so it felt as a typical Latin American scam. Not sure if the issue is with expedia or the hotel, but nobody seems to be responsible for the misinformation. Nothing special with the room, some signs of deterioration, room light issues, rust on mirror frame in bathroon, sink was leaking, etc. The restaurant was quite expensive but typical tourist trap, there are no other options around. Would not recommend or stay there again unfortunately. Only positive was the airport shuttle option.
