We booked this stay and upon arrival, the check in desk was a small security guard desk. The security guard did not speak any English at all, so we struggled with communication. He could not find our reservation and had to call someone else. Finally, the person on the phone confirmed our reservation. He gave us our keys and wi-fi password and we went to our room. We unpacked and got settled. Before bed, we noticed that the window in the room, that was outlooking the hallway at a low height, had a broken lock. The window therefore, was able to be opened from the inside or outside, meaning if someone was in the hallway, they were able to open our window and could potentially get inside. It was late, and we had no other option but to go to sleep. We put a clothes hanger in the window to try to keep it shut, and also put a rack in front of it with glasses on it in case anyone did try to open it. We felt very unsafe there. In the morning, we ended up leaving the property due to feeling unsafe. I tried speaking to the front desk about it, but again, the person did not speak any english. I felt frustrated and defeated about the situation. We figured if we called Expedia, they could help us try to work it out as we booked 3 nights, but only stayed one due to feeling unsafe. We had to pay for another stay. Expedia did try calling the property but they told them they can't refund us. I'm not sure how you can expect someone to pay to stay in a room where anyone could get in. Very unsafe
