"What an amazing place to stay at this historical inn"

"Upon arrival, they allowed us to check in early which was very nice as we were exhausted. We were shown to our room which was spacious and had its own bathroom. After a couple hours nap, we walked around the house to check out the property which was unkept. I don’t know if they maintain it better in the summer, but going at the end of the “off season” it was looking a little rough. Come bed time, it was very cold in our room. "A small hotel with a fabulous and very popular lakeside restaurant. Mainly used by Italians but with a handful of international guests. The staff are very friendly and the food possibly the best Italian we’ve ever enjoyed anywhere. We dined lakeside while watching otters and various birds in the lake very close by. We stayed for one night before driving to Civitavecchia to pick up a cruise (about an hour) and we would love to return one day. "
