We were three senior men from out of town, staying for three nights on a golf trip. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there, despite some disappointments. This is not meant to be harsh. I just feel that potential renters need to know this information.
PROS:
- The location was ideal for us.
- The house was very nice.
- The neighborhood was relatively quiet.
- Communicating with the owner was good.
CONS:
- The second bedroom had no closet or night stand.
- Fortunately there were only three of us, as there were only three towels.
- There are virtually no cooking utensils. One spatula. Period. I purchased some items and left a potato masher.
- In the cutlery drawer, there were 4 small forks, 4 large forks, 4 small spoons, 4 large spoons and ONE knife. Yes, one knife. That is still the case, as the knives I bought to get through the trip were too expensive to leave there (the Dollar store was out of knives). (There was a nice sharp cook's knife and paring knife in a block on the counter.)
- There were 9 water glasses. Period. No juice or wine glasses. I bought 3 wine glasses and left them there.
- There were about 8 dinner plates, 5 or 6 small plates and cereal bowls.
- There were no mixing or serving bowls of any kind.
- There was a coffee percolator, with a can of coffee, but no toaster. The owner supplied a toaster the second day.
- There were no trays or cookie sheets in order to cook anything in the oven. I bought one and left it there.
- There were no dish rags nor oven mitts. I bought and left some.
- No aluminum foil. I bought one and left it there.
- The cupboards and drawers were basically bare.
- And here's the real shocker. There is a BBQ on the balcony, but no propane tank. When I questioned the owner, she replied that it was normal for renters to bring their own tank. She also felt that the cooking utensils were adequate.
- And last, there is only basic cable. No sports channels whatsoever, which was very disappointing.
So, the bottom line is, it can be a pleasant place to stay, but you must bring EVERYTHING that you will need with you.
