"Gorgeous building, lovely wine, a great breakfast and really friendly hosts. However, if you're doing the Camino, it's a beautiful place to stay but Google will not help if you're walking. Ask the owners for directions, or take a cab - it will save you trying to find waterside paths that don't exist and getting lost in the woods!"

"oh my God what a hidden gem. this place is incredible. the moment you pull up and open your car door, the wonderful smell of eucalyptus hits your nose and immediately feel at ease. the owner and her husband were extremely nice, accommodating, caring, and just overall great human beings dedicated to the hospitality business. "It is only really accessible if you have your own transport,because it is off the main road,down a country lane and a fair distance from Santiago de Compostela ,but my satnav got me there,no problem and I was given good advice as to how get to SdC and find parking. It is a lovely country house/converted farm in huge gardens.The room was very good and breakfast was included in the price,which was cheap considering the quality of the place. "

"We stayed one night while walking the Camino and while it is about 1km away it is well worth the trip. This is a beautiful old family home that you instantly feel welcomed in. "After a long cold and rainy day on the Camino, Manuel picked us up in town. This was a life saver as we were so wet and cold from the walk. Upon arrival there was a welcoming fire and coffee and cookies. We felt right at home. We were the only guest so we were able to enjoy the family room by the fire all evening. "Well located property just steps from the Cathedral. The apartment was clean and attractive. Nicely decorated with lots of windows with shutters worked well for both security and room darkening. Kitchen is a little minimalist but functional for breakfast and simple meals. Super clean and spacious bathroom. Comfortable 4 night stay."

lovely location, beautfully appointed

"what a charming hotel. five stars in every category except one- which they are aware of and inform you of in advance. Since the hotel is in a pedestrian only section of town you've got to park the cxar and carry your bags. Not a terrible thing. Yet- on this same trip we encountered a similar situation in Porto only this hotel would send someone to meet you and bring in your bags. The Rua Vilar might think about it. Everything else is exceptional and the luggage lugging didn't dampen our spirits. Putting it in perspective a lot of folks come to this town after hiking for days or weeks on the Caminho de Capistrano so maybe this is intentional."

"Nice quality property with friendly and helpful staff. Area is nicely wooded with a stream running along a walking path. We walked into old town and the cathedral 2.2 miles without issue. Food was good quality and reasonably priced!"
