"Same experience as the above reviews. If it wasn’t that our son was in Edinburgh fringe we would never have endured the smell and dirt, there was no alternative available. After complaining we did appreciate getting a partial refund from the host. The money that was not returned was VRBO’s portion and I plan to argue for that too. They are responsible for checking properties so they should refund their portion too and take down this terrible property that no one should have to stay in. To be...

"We had a wonderful stay here! Ruairidh has created a beautiful property that is very well appointed. There is a large table which gave my wife and I plenty of space to work. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bath and the kitchen were bright and modern. The property is next to a park and very close to a walking trail by a canal which my wife and I enjoyed several times. "The apartment was close to the airport and the city center. Overall, it's quite a nice and tidy apartment, but it definitely needs maintenance on some things. The heating boiler stopped working four times in two days. The owner helped us, but the apartment got cold quickly and it was cold inside. If you stay more than two nights, it can make your stay very unpleasant. Even some smaller things would need maintenance or replacement (batteries on the bathroom sink, hard-to-open door to the living...

"Just returned from an 8 night stay at this amazing cottage. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little taste of Scotland and a quiet beautiful retreat from everyday life! The cottage kitchen was lovely as well as having plenty of living space...the bedrooms were also great and comfortable for all the members of our party. The owner was very pleasant and greeting us our first day and awoke very early on our departure day to say goodbye!! I would definitely stay there again!!"

"The hotel is in a great area of the New Town. Close to restaurants, cafes and shops as well as easy walking to all the main sights. Our room was great - clean, comfortable, brilliant shower and controllable air con which was a huge plus in the unusually warm weather we had! Highly recommended"

"Apex Waterloo Hotel in Edinburgh was newly updated and renovated with onsite dining, bar, indoor pool, gym, sauna and spa. The rooms are comfortable with attractive bedding and bathroom amenities. Dining is very reasonable and the onsite bar is great. Breakfast for a reasonable fee is complete with custom cooked Scottish entrees as well as a buffet bar with fruit, pastries, coffees, and fruit juices. The hotel is in close walking distance to Old Town and New Town including a number of museums, and city parks. If you arrive at EDI airport you can purchase a multi day tram pass that allows cross town trips as well as returning to the airport. The hotel is a short walk to Waverley Train station. Nearby are day trip tours as well as car rental."

Perfect Beyond My Expectations

"I initially booked this hotel out of convenience. It was located near to both Haymarket Station and the Usher Hall. That was my main concern. I was totally amazed by the helpfulness, the friendliness, and the professionalism of the staff at the hotel. They were all outstanding! This was such a surprise to me as Id only expected a basic bed for the night. The room was immaculately clean, and the bed was SO comfy. They provide an early check in and a late check out facility, which was ideal for my arrangements. I couldnt fault one thing about this hotel. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable and stress-free. I am disabled and you have no idea how your simple acts of kindness helped me"
