"It is quiet and well-maintained, right near the train station, the Lancaster Castle, and lots of downtown shops and restaurants. The food is tasty. There are a lot of steps into and out of the hotel spaces (and no lift). If you're up for that exercise, it is a charming place to stay."

"I phoned to say I was going to be late on arrival. (10pm) and the first thing I was asked was if they could do me some sandwiches for when I arrived. Great service from the chap who was working the bar. Food and drink ready for when I walked in. Excellent breakfast."

"Had a great one night stay here, the room was very clean and tidy and so was the bathroom. We ate in the restaurant which was also good. It’s a great location place to get to the three peaks, about 15 mins drive to Horton on ribblesdale. The only one slight downside to our stay was that there was a band playing in the pub below and typically we wanted to get an early night and start for the run the next morning. They were finished by 11 though and as someone who any other time would have been...

"The room and bathroom was stark and held only the basic necessities. No facial tissues. No decorations to make it feel cozy. Food and service were good. Owners friendly and inviting. Parking very limited but that was the whole area. "
