"Wendy has done a great job of making the cottage pet friendly and she provides everything you need. The cottage is comfortable and there are board games, pet toys and a kitchen that holds all the items you need except the food to prepare a meal. The decorations are tasteful and not overdone. This is a very comfortable and charming place for a visit to Oak Island. "

"Owners have thoughtful amenities. I would recommend that they provide local tv channels and look at regulating hot water in showers. Also, should put up house address numbers. We had great stay and would do it again."

"We decided to take the children to beach for a quick vacation before school starts. This house is the prefect size for our 4-person family. The rooms were big, bathrooms were perfect (we loved the ceiling showerhead in the master.) the kids loved the outdoor shower after a long day playing in the sand. There was no walking to restaurants or any other places. You could walk to the beach but it was a 15-20 min walk. It was not an issue for us to drive to a beach access spot. we have already talked...

"The only difficulty with this property was lack of lighting on the address. Suggest "Solar Powered Black Round LED Light (4-Pack)" from Home Depot."

"The pictures accurately reflect the home. Has great stained wood floors and a wonderful front screen porch. It sits on a quiet town block, located close to the better restaurants and the beach. The staircases from ground to main floor are long and pitched. Descending can be tricky . "

"The whole family had our first beach vacation in years and it was our first time to oak island. We loved the property, found it to be very quiet and clean. The only thing we didn’t like was there was no fan in the bathroom so it got a little warm in there after showers lol, but overall a great property and spot for families!"

"This property is centrally located to the beach, festivals and grocery stores. Beds are comfortable for a good night sleep."

"We loved our visit to Xanadu! The house was beautiful, well laid out, and well stocked with everything we needed. The welcome basket was such a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable as well. We would definitely stay again. Only comment is that if you are carrying a lot of stuff it is a bit of a walk to the beach. A golf cart is recommended. "
